Mohamed Lamqayssi is a choreographer, performer, and video maker who began his training in contemporary dance in 2011 within Cie Anania/ Taoufiq Izeddiou in Marrakech, Morocco. His career as a dancer included several internships and residencies in Morocco, Europe, and the Middle East.

 

Mohamed marked the first step of his professional career with his first solo "NAFAS" (2015) developed later in 2018 in collaboration with the writer and visual artist Hanne Van Dyck, before choreographing the trio "Jour J" with Chourouk ElMahati and Moad Haddadi in 2019.

As a performer, Mohamed has appeared in the pieces "If The Sun" by company Mintala, "8" by Radouan Mrizigua, "Border-line" and "Hmadcha" by Taoufiq Izeddiou, "AKZAK" and "ZAK RYTHMIK" by Héla Fattoumi and Eric Lamoureux

in April 2022 Mohamed became co-artistic director of AdVance Cie with Angela Vanoni,

He is actually working on a new dance performance called "DIHYA".

 

His passion for the image and his practice as a dancer in addition to his sensitivity to rhythms and musicality allowed him to bring a distinctive look to his video productions.
